An easy vegan and gluten free protein to add to any meal! Delicious on top of fried rice, Asian noodles, or salads, and it’s ready in 30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 block extra-firm tofu
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce or tamari (gluten free if needed)
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • splash Sriracha (optional)
  • 1/4 cup each white and black sesame seeds
  • fried rice or Protein Fried Rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Wrap tofu in paper towels, place in the sink and set a heavy object on top. A baking sheet with a large can of tomatoes, sauce, beans, etc. works great. Let drain for 10-15 minutes.
  3. In a medium bowl, add soy sauce, sesame oil, and Sriracha. Remove the paper towels from the tofu, then cut the tofu into 1/2-inch chunks. Toss in the sauce.
  4. Add sesame seeds to a separate bowl. Gently mix.
  5. Take a piece of tofu and shake away excess sauce. Dredge in sesame seeds, and then place directly on a baking sheet. Continue with the remaining pieces of tofu. Cook for 20-25 minutes. Gently remove the tofu pieces from the baking sheet. Serve with fried rice or my favorite Protein Fried Rice.
