You had to have known this was going to happen.
I owe an apology to Peanut Butter Lover’s Anonymous. I tote my devotion to the sticky, gooey, creamy spread of lovin’ all the time; however, peanut butter has been surprisingly absent from Fooduzzi since its inception. I am a horrible member of this organization. Please excuse my ignorance.
I was, am, and always will be a peanut butter fiend. My faithfulness to this nut butter ran deep as a child: PB Cap’n Crunch was my go-to breakfast, I was convinced that Reese’s eggs were gifts sent from the gods, and chewy no-bake cookies were my most-requested road trip food when we stopped at Sheetz. …it’s a Pittsburgh thing.Read More
One of the things I love most about being home with my family on the weekends is our Saturday brunch. My dad always makes his #peduzzifamous huevos rancheros; they’re packed with a few different types of salsa, eggs, fresh vegetables, a little chorizo, and a touch of cheese. Needless to say, they’re über impressive.
I’m more of a breakfast purist, so I usually make a bowl of my Banana Bread Oatmeal. There’s something so satisfying about a warm bowl of oaty goodness, especially this time of year when it has been pretty arctic tundra-esque right outside my door. If I’m being completely honest with you, I crave oatmeal year-round. There’s something that just screams, “Let’s wake up and kick some butt today” like my oatmeal.Read More
I’m really not the biggest fan of Valentine’s Day.
I just never really saw the point for this holiday. If you truly love the one you’re with, don’t you think that every day should be treated like Valentine’s Day? Do you really need a special day designated for niceness and thoughtful gifts? A single date per year that you decide to bring home flowers for a loved one or choose to have a romantic night out?
Great. Now I’m sounding like my mother.Read More
Tis the season for those little brats who come to our doors and tempt us with those addictive chocolate/coconut/caramel cookies, those better-when-frozen chocolate/mint wafers, and those I-could-eat-1000 oatmeal peanut butter sandwiches. But I’m allowed to call them “brats” because I was one of those brats.
I think it’s kind of ironic that I went into business school after my lack of entrepreneurial prowess in the Girl Scout cookie trade. I always capitalized on my mom and dad bringing the order form into work and getting their co-workers to support their hard-working Girl Scout daughter. But walking around in the cold, knocking on doors, and having conversations with people I would otherwise never talk to? Yeah, that didn’t sound so fun.Read More
Remember how I was talking about my New Year’s Resolutions? Well, I thought of another I could add to that list: Change. It. Up.
I have my favorites. I barely have time to try new restaurants because I always stick to my most-loved spots. And forget about trying different dishes at said “spots.” I adore re-reading my most beloved novels so much that I sometimes possess a certain tunnel-vision that prevents me from discovering something new. I am convinced that I would make a horrible mother because I’m 100% sure that I really would have a favorite kid. I eat the same Banana Bread Oats for breakfast. Every. Single. Day.
All I have to say is thank goodness I branched out today.Read More
My name is Alexa Peduzzi, and I am an oatmeal addict.
I figured this was a respectable way to start Fooduzzi – an admittance of my obsession with the lowly oat. Believe you me; they will be making many appearances here. I can honestly say I have had a bowl of oatmeal every day for about five months. I apologize for being a 99-year-old woman.
